Articulate has just announced a big evolution. Here’s what you need to know

Last week, the L&D world was full of whispers about something big landing at Articuland Orlando. Now the secret’s out, and it was certainly worth the wait.

Articulate has just announced a major evolution, the biggest from the platform in a decade, headlined by three key changes.

So, what does it mean for your day-to-day, and how does this affect things if you’re already using the platform to create courses? Here’s what’s new.

A new era for Articulate

Articulate is evolving into something bigger – and better. The experience you already know is still there, but new, innovative capabilities have been added to the platform.

The three headline changes to know:

  • Frontline: a new product built for non-L&D teams who need to create training as part of their role
  • Articulate 360 AI: built for L&D professionals to help them create content and step into the role of strategic leader. Similar to the Articulate you know, but better.
  • Nova: The AI agent sitting behind both products, handling complex capabilities like translation, avatar videos, training kit generation, and more

“Our customers are navigating more change in their organisations than at any point in our industry’s history. They need a system that lets their proprietary knowledge and expertise reach further, equips their frontline teams for the moments where their performance actually matters, and keeps up with how fast their business is moving. That’s what we’re putting in their hands today.” Brian Gil, Chief Product and Operations Officer, Articulate

When do the changes go live?

They’re live now. Articulate announced the changes during the opening keynote at Articuland Orlando on 10 September 2026, and they went live immediately.

What’s changed?

Articulate 360 AI: a platform refresh

Articulate 360 AI, on the other hand, is for professional L&D creators building high-quality learning experiences. If you were already using Articulate, you probably fall into this camp.

For existing users, your content stays exactly where it is, and there’s no migration or downtime needed. The tools you already know – Storyline, Rise, Reach, and Review – are all still there too. What is new is the experience around them, including navigation, content formats, dashboard, library, and built-in analytics.

Another difference worth noting here: there’s been a minor change of name. Articulate 360 is now Articulate 360 AI.

Frontline: a new product for teams outside L&D

Frontline is a new, AI-powered product for non-L&D teams who need to create training as part of their role, without learning or instructional design expertise behind them.

This could include sales enablement leaders, managers, customer support teams, and compliance teams – essentially, anyone who needs to onboard, train, or upskill their people quickly. They have the knowledge to impart, but not always the skills to turn it into impactful training. That’s where Frontline comes in.

Nova: a new AI Agent

Nova is Articulate’s new AI agent, backed by over 20 years of learning science.

Nova powers complex tasks, covering things like AI avatars and localisation in Articulate 360 AI, and training kit generation in Frontline.

Nova runs on credits (more on that below) and is built for advanced capability rather than day-to-day AI use. Core AI is still in place for simpler tasks in Articulate 360 AI – like image and quiz generation, course drafting, and AI Tutor – with no credits required.

A new credit-based system

Credits give you access to the advanced capabilities Nova powers; the heavier, agentic work. That’s things like AI avatars and multi-format translation.

Core AI, as mentioned above, never touches your credits in Articulate 360 AI. Credits are instead reserved for the more complex tasks that need Nova to run.

The two products work differently when it comes to credits and access:

  • Frontline runs entirely on credits, no subscription required
  • Articulate 360 AI is subscription-based, with the option to draw on credits for the heavier, Nova-powered work

Customers on an existing Articulate plan with AI have been gifted 20,000 credits per seat, capped at 100,000 per account, to help you get started with the new functionality. One-off credit top-ups can also be purchased.

New enterprise integrations

Articulate can now integrate with the tools you’re already using day-to-day, making things easier and cutting the need to start afresh every time.

Whether you’re pulling in source material from Google Drive and OneDrive to inform a course, using AI tools like Claude, ChatGPT, or Microsoft Copilot for content creation, or keeping courses in sync with any LMS through a connected package, it’s all part of the same workflow now.
