Every now and then, a product update comes around that makes you sit up and listen. Vyond – the AI platform that lets you create professional-quality videos – has raised the bar recently, announcing not one, but two flashy updates that can seriously boost your eLearning.

Here’s a closer look at what’s new…

Photo AI Avatars

Available to Vyond Professional, Enterprise and Agency accounts

Getting a high-quality, to-camera piece from your SMEs is often harder than it sounds. Hiring a camera crew or getting in-house equipment doesn’t come cheap, and as soon as a process is updated or key information changes, you’re right back where you started.

With Vyond’s new Photo AI Avatars, you can now create talking heads directly from images – no filming or editing required. All you need is a headshot and a script.

Whether it’s a CEO welcome message for new hires or a department head walking through a process update, you get personalised videos at speed – with a familiar face on the screen that’s much more engaging than a stranger’s.

How to use Photo AI Avatars

  • Head to Vyond and click on the ‘AI Avatars’ section on the homepage
  • In the ‘My Library’ section, select the option to create your own avatar
  • Choose ‘Upload your photo’ and follow the steps, including naming your avatar
  • Once ready, your avatar will be saved in your AI Avatar library
  • Type your script (max 3,000 characters), select your voice options and add any speaking instructions around tone, pacing or delivery
  • Preview the voice reading your script, then click ‘Create video’
  • Your finished video will be saved in your video library

Text to Video Clip

Available to Vyond Enterprise and Agency accounts

Another recent release from Vyond – Text to Video Clip – takes you straight from prompt to AI footage in minutes. Good news for anyone who’s begrudgingly scrolled through a stock library, never quite finding the right shot.

For scenario-based learning especially, it’s a useful upgrade – you can brief it like a storyboard rather than settling for footage that doesn’t exactly fit or commissioning custom content at significant cost.

It works with a text prompt alone or, for more control over the look and feel, attach an image as a starting frame. Think your actual office, shop floor, warehouse or any environment your learners will recognise.

A word of note: as with any content generated by prompts, the more specific the instructions are, the better the output from the off. If you want to sharpen your skills here, our guide to AI prompting for L&D is a good place to start.

💡Quick tip: You can choose between two models with this feature:

  • Veo 3.1 Fast – the go-to for structured, story-led content, and particularly good when your scene includes on-screen text
  • Kling 2.6 – the choice for when you want a more polished, film-like look, with smoother camera work and better handling of faces in the background

How to use Text to Video Clip

  • Head to the Create menu and select ‘Text to Video Clip’, or find it through the Tools option on the left side navigation menu
  • Type in your prompt and pick which AI model you want to work with
  • If you want more control over how the clip looks, use the ‘Add Image’ option to upload a photo as your opening frame
  • Click Generate and wait for your clip to be made
  • Save the clip to your computer as soon as it’s ready; if you refresh the page, it’ll be gone
  • Upload it into Vyond and drop it into your scene
